Asa G. Yancey, Jr., M.D., was a chemistry major at Morehouse College when he spent his junior year at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, as a Luard Scholar. He graduated from Morehouse Cum Laude, and received his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine in 1981.

He is currently a Board Certified physician in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry, practicing in the greater Denver, Colorado region. He serves as an instructor/consultant in pediatric psychiatry to the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and is a volunteer faculty in pediatric psychiatry at the UC Health Science Center.
